I decided on the title "Life is Better with Laughter" because I really do believe that laughter in life is key. (Of course I'm not saying that's all you need in life to be fulfilled. But I do think it is important.) I can remember my Dad saying to me at one point that it is a real benefit in life if you can learn to laugh at yourself. I can't remember if I was receiving that talk because of my shortcomings in that area, or if it was just a little nugget of wisdom he wanted to pass on to me. Regardless, it has stuck with me and it is something that I try to remember. My Mom and Dad gave me a lot of very sound Biblical advice growing up and it is something that I am very grateful for.
Anyway, I plan to use this blog to share a lot of the things in life that make me laugh. Whether they be things that I have had to LEARN to laugh at (because I didn't find them funny at the time) or things that just naturally make me laugh. Basically, I want to be an encouragement. I want to share the lessons that God is teaching me and the things in every day life that have tickled me.
So, for my very first "Moment of Merriment", as I'm going to be calling these random stories of mirth (sorry, I couldn't resist another 'm' word :)) I want to share with you what happened today.
I've been on an organizing frenzy these last couple of days and I was in the process of organizing our walk-in closet. Everett had just woken up from his nap so he was wandering around our room as I organized. I was on my way out of the closet with my arms full of stuff when I saw Everett going for my nightstand. It wouldn't have been a big deal except for the fact that I'm delinquent and I had left my cup full of water within Everett's reach. Before I had time to do or say anything Everett grabbed the cup and inverted it over his head spilling water ALL OVER himself and the carpet. I just about DIED laughing. He had such a shocked expression on his face from suddenly getting wet and I think he was also concerned about his Mama laughing hysterically on the floor. Anyway, I got control of myself...and my bladder...jk :) and grabbed the camera to document the moment.
Notice the water on the carpet behind Ev. :)
Well, thanks for taking time to read my post. Have a great day with lots of laughs!
Well, you made me laugh! :) I can't wait to read more! You've always reminded me of what a joyful Christian should be.
