Unbroken by: Laura Hillenbrand
A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption
I read this book in about 5 days. It was SO AMAZING. It is about a man named Louis Zamperini who was captured by the Japanese after his plane went down during an attempted rescue mission. Once you start reading this book you won't be able to put it down. As a word of warning, as with most historical war books, there tend to be some graphic descriptions about what the men suffered through as captives. However, as I got to the end (the part about redemption) I was moved to tears. A wonderful book if you appreciate our country and the God it was founded upon.
Bringing Up Boys by: Dr. James Dobson
This book is SO practical! It has a lot of insights into raising a little boy into a man who loves the Lord. This book was especially good for me to read as a mommy. There are a couple of things I didn't agree with completely, but overall this book was very beneficial!
